Taoist Philosophy and the Essence of Esoteric Training
Balance, Inner Peace, and Connection with Nature
Taoism the the ancient Chinese philosophy of Balance and Harmony with Nature. It is based on the premise that all phenomena in the Universe come from the same origin- the Tao (or the Way). From the Tao, all things are polarized into Yin and Yang- the fundamental polar attributes of our Reality. These complimentary opposite poles (of the same object/concept/idea) create a spectral differentiation of Reality which 1) allows us to observe it from a split perspective, and 2) creates “spin” or movement as an energetic current arises between the two poles. This movement of energy flow creates the language through which all Life communicates.
The early Taoists began observing the flow of life currents in nature and began to develop an understanding of how this movement is reflected in us. In fact, we are part of the natural world all around us and, therefore, the correct understanding of the laws of nature gives us enlightenment and clarity about ourselves. The path of the Taoist Alchemist is to turn the Light of Awareness “around”- to bend it inwards so that we can observe our essential nature and drink from the fountain of Vitality and Longevity. With the use of spiritual tools such as Qi Gong (energy yoga), meditation, introspective analysis, philosophical teachings, and quality time in nature, the Taoist adept wakes up to the True Nature of the Universe and is free from the reigns of mental bondage and slavery.
The wisdom of the ancients has now made it into modernity. Pedram Shojai has studied with high level Taoist masters and has dedicated his life to this path. His unique contribution comes from his ability to clearly communicate the teachings to modern audiences and show how we can apply this philosophy of balance to our lives. One needn’t convert to a new religion or take on a new name for this training. It serves as a complimentary skill set/perspective for people from any race, religion, creed, or culture. It is universally applicable and easy to learn. The workshop is one’s own body and one’s own consciousness. The time to begin learning is now.
