This is a fun listen.  Leonard Orr speaks about his encounters with great yogis and the immortal Babaji in India.  He speaks of incredible healings, levitation, dematerialized bodies, transfiguration, and much more.  In my world of Qi Gong, I often refer to the purification rituals found in yoga because I find them to be very effective.  Leonard Orr bridges into some of those here.  I’ll be releasing more of this over time but look to see him in the upcoming Vitality Movie this spring.

I had the distinct pleasure of hanging out with Doctor Bruce Lipton yesterday.  I was interviewing him for the Vitality Movie which is a documentary I’ve been working on with Sacred Mysteries Productions.  The movie is set to release soon and has an incredible cast of notable figures in the Health and Wellness sphere in it.

I’d like to start off by saying that Dr. Lipton is a great guy.  He knows his stuff but keeps the twinkle in his eyes from the rock and roll era he grew up in.  He’s a musician which makes him an artist and a scholar- a well rounded combination.  This was a fun interview.

We discussed the nature of how cells process information and how that impacts our overall health.  We discussed the problems with the current healthcare system and he had wonderful things to say about how to create solutions for it.  We discussed Acupuncture, Chiropractic , nutrition, energy medicine (qi gong), and psychotherapy as integral facets of the new healthcare model.

The power of the subconscious mind was a big subject and we discussed a variety of strategies on how people can change their lives and free themselves of their mental entrapment.  Bruce has some very nice ideas about conscious parenting and what it means to take on that responsibility.  I highly suggest reading his book: “The Biology of Belief” and I’ll be getting this footage over to the editing department so I can leak some excerpts of our talk.

I love meeting with scientists like Dr. Lipton because it offers an incredible opportunity for integration of esoteric knowledge with new science.  My years of training in alchemy and energy work have introduced me to far out concepts and interesting people along the way.  It is great to sit with someone like Dr. Lipton and discuss these topics through the looking glass of cellular biology.  We really have come full circle and it is a wonderful time to be alive.

I had the privilege of spending some quality time with Jay Weidner in Ashland, OR.  Jay is an alchemy scholar who has always been a great mentor and teacher to me.  He’s an enlightened dude with a great heart and a wonderful sense of humor.  Always look for people who don’t take themselves too seriously when searching for esoteric teachers- Jay is a riot and he really knows his stuff.

On our long drive through Oregon, we got into a great conversation about semantics and its impact on our understanding of Reality.  He taught me a lot. (more…)

Developing Will Power

Here you will learn how to find your personal power from the lessons of Kung Fu, and what you must do each day

Having gone through the rigors of training in Kung Fu over the years, many of the profound benefits have dawned on me at a much later date than when the lesson was first handed down.  Sure- you are told it is good for you and yes-discipline is important so you do what you’re told.  Does that teach you the underlying lessons of what’s to develop in your inner psyche?  I can’t see how it could for a young man on the front side of the experience.  Growing up is a maturation process- like the ripening of a fruit- nature will take its course and we are foolish to poke and prod too much.  Of course, we expect an apple from an apple tree but what quality?  What was the quality of the tree?  How was the rain that year?  The issue is so multi-factoral that there is always an art and a science to this practice.

The same happens in Kung Fu.  The literal translation of the term is “Hard Work” or alternatively, “Eat Bitter”.  Sounds romantic but what does it mean? (more…)

The founder of the Tao Tan Pai Lineage

Master Lu

One week has not gone by when, upon finding out I teach Qi Gong, I am asked “Is that like Tai Chi?”  The answer is- yes, kind of.  Here’s the scoop folks:

Qi Gong literally translates to “energy work”.  It is the ancient Asian practice of energy cultivation and breath work.  Known as a form of yoga, the practice of Qi Gong comes in many forms- some seated, some in deep stances, and others looking more like self massage.  There are literally thousands of traditions practicing different forms of Qi Gong out there.  Many of them come from health and healing practices while others from martial arts lineages.  Why martial arts?  Easy- let’s cultivate your internal energy, strengthen your vital flow, refine your focus, and teach you to project that power out of your palms and into that guy.  Yeah- you see it in the Kung Fu movies all the time.

What else are these Qi Gong people doing? (more…)
