This the Lu Tung Pin’s 20 verse poem which clearly (yes clearly) lays out the steps to immortality.
To nourish Qi: cultivate while watching wordlessly.
To calm the mind, do: Not Doing.
In Movement and in tranquility, Know the Source Patriarch.
Take it easy; no need to seek after things.
True Eternity responds to everything.
When resonding, you must not get ensnared.
When not ensnared, your character naturally settles stabalized.
When your character is stable, Qi will naturally return.
When Qi returns, the Elixer naturally condenses.
In the claypot, KAN (water) and LI (fire) integrate.
Yin and Yang are born back and forth, Thundering everywhere.
White clouds raise to the Summit.
Sweet dew sprinkles on Sumeru (legendary mountain of Immortality).
Drink for yourself this wine of longevity.
None will comprehend you as you freely wander.
Sit: Listening to the Stringless Tune.
Clearly comprehend the (ongoing) Creation of the Universe.
Through these twenty verses, you will ascend Heaven’s Ladder.
